The Joint Academic Partnership “Life Sciences and Green Technologies” was founded in December 2018 under the umbrella of the Bavarian Academic Forum – The Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, University of Bayreuth and the Technical University of Deggendorf are the founding universities of our Joint Academic Partnership, but the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences also acts as lead University.

We look forward to new members in our Joint Academic Partnership!

If there is a thematic fit, any Bavarian university management can informally apply for a university membership, provided that ideas or partners for cooperation projects are available. A contact partner must be named in the application.

Our Joint Academic Partnership is a platform and network for excellent researchers  – experienced senior experts, post-docs and (aspiring) doctoral candidates.

Die menschliche Gesellschaft und die Ökosysteme der Welt bilden ein voneinander abhängiges und dynamisches System. Einerseits hat die intensive Landnutzung, die Gewinnung natürlicher Ressourcen und die Emissionen in die Umwelt den weltweiten Verlust der biologischen Vielfalt und die Verschlechterung der Ökosystemleistungen verursacht. Andererseits lebt die menschliche Gesellschaft von Gütern und Dienstleistungen, die von den Ökosystemen der Welt bereitgestellt werden. Während der Handel mit einigen der abgeleiteten Waren eine wirtschaftliche Bewertung ermöglicht, werden viele andere Vorteile von den Entscheidungsträgern nicht gewürdigt. In unserer Forschung interessieren wir uns für das Angebot und die Nachfrage nach Ökosystemleistungen in regionalen Mensch-Umwelt-Systemen angesichts des globalen Wandels.

Forschungsgebiete:

  • Entscheidungsfindung: Empirische Analyse von Akteuren, welche Ökosystemleistungen anbieten oder nachfragen
  • Regionale Mensch-Umwelt Modelle: Kartierung und Modellierung der Landnutzung, Biodiversität und Ökosystemleistungen

On the one hand, my current research projects focus on the transformation of the energy sector and design of sustainable energy supply structured from a spatial perspective. In addition to the use of geo information systems, spatio-temporal energy models are also being developed to this end. While I also conduct application-oriented research on the theme of innovative participation possibilities of actors in spatial planning processes through digital media (digitalisation), on the other. It was in this environment that the platform PUBinPLAN was developed.
